GB4HAM Radio Communications Unit Promoting Amateur Radio to Schools, Scouts, Cadets,
SARC won the original GB4FUN unit from RSGB and renamed it with the new call sign - GB4HAM Radio Communications Unit which suited it quite well to its function. This was used to promote Amateur Radio and was well known around the UK and in the USA . The GB4HAM (RCU) has now been converted and mounted on to a Heavy Truck Chassis and re-named with a new call sign GB4HAM (Radio Communications Unit). Transportation of the unit is now more stream lined , takes up less space and easier to handle.
The new GB4HAM (RCU) is now owned by Steve Webster M1ERS and is used to promote Amatuer Radio in general and also to promote both the Sheffield Amateur Radio Club SARC and the Sheffield D Star repeater group for GB7SF.
Steve runs various repeaters within the Sheffield Area.
Steve will be visiting various events around the UK which normally including Hamfest and Lamfest and would be very pleased to talk to you about the GB4HAM (RCU) facilities and amateur radio in general. any one wishing to help with the communication unit when we are out on events your help would be welcomed to help promote your hobby,
